Terms of Service

By using AL-Qamar ("the App"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

AL-Qamar is an Islamic companion app providing prayer times, Quran reading, duas, Islamic calendar, community events, and related features. The App is provided free of charge.

2. User Accounts

You may use core features without an account. Optional sign-in (via Apple, Google, or email) enables cloud sync and community features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

3. Acceptable Use

When using community features, you agree to:

• Not post false, misleading, or inappropriate content
• Not upload images containing inappropriate or offensive material
• Not spam, harass, or abuse other users
• Not attempt to disrupt the App's services or infrastructure
• Comply with all applicable local laws and regulations

4. Community Content

Events, reviews, and other community contributions you create are visible to other users. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a licence to display it within the App. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or community guidelines. Content is moderated by administrators and may be automatically checked using AI services.

5. Islamic Content Disclaimer

The App provides Islamic content including prayer times, Quran text, duas, and calendar data for informational and devotional purposes. While we strive for accuracy, this content should not be treated as a substitute for consultation with qualified Islamic scholars. Prayer time calculations are algorithmic approximations — verify with your local mosque for critical timings.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, and original content are the property of Muntakhab Hasani. Quranic text and traditional Islamic content (duas, ziyarat, etc.) are part of the shared Islamic heritage. Third-party content (maps, fonts, APIs) is subject to their respective licences.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services (Firebase, Google APIs, Expo, OpenStreetMap, etc.) that are subject to their own terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of these services.

8. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to: inaccurate prayer times, data loss, service interruptions, or actions taken based on App content.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or community guidelines. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
